Not only do you get the joy of exploring the anchor on the southern end of Kev’s Ledge that gave this reef its name, but also two parallel ledges with an abundance an variety of reef fish. The reef life includes the numerous game fish passing by, turtles sleeping under the ledges and some beautiful coloured Nudibranchs. Reef fish like butterfly, batfish, damsels, anemone fish and trumpet fish are resident on this reef. Beautiful starfish as well as feather stars are also found here. The coral life in this area consists of small plants, seaweeds, sponges and whip coral. And there are beautifully coloured soft corals and anemones.

Aquarium |
 |
The 3 sisters of the sea are 3 pinnacle rocks about 70m apart. The second reef in the chain has a hole on the middle, making it a stunning sight to observe the ocean life passing you by through the window, making it exceptional sight. And to emphasize a whole experience even more, make your dive on a sunny day so that the sun’s rays penetrate the deep water and light up this rocky reef.

Tips: Ask our skippers to drop you on the second reef in the chain of Three Sisters, called Aquarium. The name says it all: it is a pinnacle rock with a hole in the middle and a resident potato bass. In calm seas, this is an amazing dive. This dive is one of the best at Malongane with its incredible and unique marine life. |

Atlantis / Lego |

It’s one of the deeper reefs with a reef structure that reminds one of a sunken, under water city with the huge square boulders, whip coral growing out of the crevices, green coral trees with swarms of small fish, and numerous triggerfish, potato bass and other reef fish that frequent the area.

Bass City |
 |
Bass City is the formation of 5 rocks of almost identical size. It is famous for the over friendly family of Potato Bass. Mid waters are filled with baitfish and hunting game fish. The rocks are covered in soft corals that hide lionfish and sweepers. The overhangs hide octopus and cleaning stations manned by shrimps. The sandy areas are filled with carpet eels and various members of the ray family. If you are a fish lover, then this reef is definitely for you.

Tips: Bass City is famous for its resident “tame” potato bass Bert. There are 4 other large potato basses on this reef but Bert is the only one who will come and swim with you. Be aware of large number of lionfish; very often you can easily see a dozen of them at the same time. Leopard Sharks and Zambezi can be occasionally spotted. |

Kev's Ledge |

Similar to a wall dive, the many and varied crevices of a six-metre rocky ledge is heaven and it’s yours to explore with its wide and varied marine life. The reef life includes the numerous game fish assign by, turtles sleeping under the ledges and colourful nudibranches. Reef fish like butterfly fish, batfish, damsels, anemone fish and trumpet fish are resident here.

Mavericks |
 |
Maverick’s is one of Malongane’s deeper dives. The reef is a awesome pinnacle rock situated in the middle of the sand. Find honeycomb morays, smaller morays, leaf fish, rare frog fish and other sea wonders. Soft corals hide small fish, whilst mid waters are filled with schooling fish, the odd turtle and the odd manta ray. The coral life in this area consists of small plants, seaweeds, sponges and whip coral, soft corals and anemones.

Tips: Maverick’s is only 20m across & 30m long so you cannot get lost there. This reef has resident frog and scorpion fish, do not miss it. |

Pinnacles |
 |
Pinnacles is a deep reef situated on the edge of a continental shelf and famous for Hammerheads, Zambezi and Dusky not to mention manta and devil rays. In addition, the big Potato bass patrol the waters. The corals are thick and hide eels and reef fish. You can always find a version of game fish in attendance. At any moment of your dive: you might see hammerheads, sharks and manta rays even on your safety stop.

Tips: Summer is the ideal time to dive this reef. It is a perfect site to practice multilevel dives. The reef was ranked the eighth best shark diving site in the world by National Geographic.

Rianna's Arch |

Rianna’s Arch is a relatively small reef and in fact is a northern part of Kev’s Ledge. The rocks are covered in soft corals that hide a lot of eels and sweepers. The traditional reef fish are always present, and there is always the chance of watching big pelagic fish moving overhead. The corals and rock create unforgettable view, you simply can’t miss this dive.
